Today we finally reach the end of the December 1989 workshop led by Terence McKenna. One of his more surprising personal revelations was that at one point in his life he wanted simply to teach French poetry at a girls' school. He also talks about what he thinks will happen in 2012 and what he would have done had he lived that long. One of my favorite quotes from this talk is: “Democracy is this innate belief in people. It's a psychedelic way of doing it. It's the closest we can get to anarchy. Anarchy to my mind is, of course, the ideal. But anarchy has to be mediated with policy, and the way you do that is through democracy.”
