Today's podcast features a talk given by Terence McKenna in May of 1990, and it is one of his most ecological talks that we've listened to in the salon. One of the interesting ideas he puts forth is that perhaps just because we have some truly amazing technology, that doesn't mean that we are any more aware of the meaning of being than were the ancients. As if he were speaking today, he says, “Our style of society is the historical equivalent of a temper tantrum. It has no viability. It's completely self-limiting. It's destructive. And it hands nothing on to its receivers.”
