This talk, among other interesting topics, includes what I believe to be the most complete description that I have heard Terence McKenna give about his experiences with Salvia divinorum. He also has an interesting “reverse take” on what psychedelic ordeals in so-called primitive societies may actually mean in regards to breaking cultural barriers. And if I'm not mistaken, he even, back in August of 1989, predicted the arrival what today we call social media. But perhaps his most interesting idea in this talk is that we should consider using the world's mycelium already in the ground as the Internet's natural backbone in a world of the future “where the telephones look like mushrooms”.
