In this installment of a June 1989 workshop, Terence McKenna adds a few new twists to some of his often-told tales, for example, by comparing a DMT trip to an automobile accident. Also, for the first time that I remember hearing it, he gives a very interesting opinion about where you GO when you smoke DMT. And I'm not talking about where to go in this physical universe, but about 'WHERE' the place is, and WHAT the place is that you seem to be in while you are in the thrall of the experience. He concludes by comparing our current human situation to that of the apes in the movie 2001 who were dancing around the monolith. In our case the monolith is psychedelic substances. All we know right now, he says, is that we've discovered something that may be as important to us as fire.
