In today’s podcast we get to hear Terence McKenna questioning himself about his emerging role in our culture, even calling himself “perhaps a dancing bear”. He then goes on to describe, with some incredulity, his performances on stage at various raves. The talk itself is from the opening night of a weekend workshop in during the month of August 1993. A few of my favorite quotes from this talk include: “Not reckless dose but committed dose. Not to see if it works. It works, other people have established that. You don't need to do research to confirm that it's psychoactive.” . . . “The truth, for sure, when it arrives, will make you smile. If it doesn't you should seek a deeper truth.” . . . “The real test of your psychedelic authenticity is your ability to write a novel.”
