On Monday night, Indiana exploded out of the gate to a 23-point lead midway through the first half before losing some focus and intensity thereafter. But thanks to Trayce Jackson-Davis' outstanding second half, the Hoosiers were able to nurse a double-digit lead all the way until the final buzzer.
After the game, our crew broke it all down on The Assembly Call IU Postgame Show.
On the mics: Coach and Andy
Among the topics discussed:
— The differences between how Indiana started and finished the game.
— The importance of what Trayce Jackson-Davis brought to the table for Indiana, especially in the second half.
— How Al and Devonte set the tone for Indiana in the first half, but then struggled (especially with their passing) in the second half.
— Some positive signs from Jerome and Damezi in the first half.
— Justin Smith didn't stuff the stat sheet offensively, but he did stay locked in on the defensive end.
— Why Armaan Franklin's biggest contribution didn't show up in the stat sheet.
We also point out a few meaningful moments you may have missed, go inside the numbers, and hand out our game balls. All of that, and more, on this edition of The Assembly Call.
