If you are not able to counsel with tears, you're not counseling the way Jesus did (Matthew 23:37; John 11:35). Biblical counseling is not as biblical as it needs to be if it does not happen in a context of compassion for the struggling soul. That type of "counseling context" transcends the counseling office; I'm also talking about marriages, families, homes, churches, work environments, and any other place where you're helping someone with God's Word.
