Did Paul love his partners in the gospel, the church in Phillipi because they had it all together, or because they pretended to be perfect? No! Paul loved them for who they were, and who they were becoming in Christ v.6.
Consider the slave girl in Phillipi from Acts 16. She didn't DO anything for Paul, but he loved her and healed her, even though he was imprisoned and tortured for it. No, the church was not perfect, but Paul was confident that if they remained in Christ, then Jesus would finish the work he started in them.
