I thought a lot about it and I think I have it figured out –
From a very young age, I was taught that when things weren’t going well, food would make me feel better. “Eat Seaney, eat” (my sweet mother)
I didn’t know and didn’t think about if this way of dealing with life, stress, disappointment was the RIGHT way to deal with it.
Life was challenging for me –I told you before how I lost my dad when I was a very young age, I was the youngest (by a lot) of 5 kids and when my dad died, everyone dealt with the loss in their own way…
I think that was the beginning.
There was no such thing as “grief counseling” back then.. . . . You just pushed on. That’s how you handled things.
I was very young and I didn’t even realize how deeply we were affected.
For years, I distracted myself with sports, music, running around with my friends… I piled things on, maybe to hide, or to avoid what I was feeling.
I've asked myself how the heck did i get here, because it was never my goal to be 687lbs!!!
