Dr. Maria Muñoz, PhD, CCC-SLP (University of Redlands, Professor) conducts research, teaches, and publishes in the areas of treatment outcomes and aphasia, and the manifestation of aphasia in Spanish/English bilinguals.
In today's episode, Maria will tell the story that provided an "A-ha!" moment in making treatment culturally relevant, and explains cultural adaptation and how it applies to LPAA philosophy, challenging clinicians to see a different view. Maria discusses facilitating a bilingual aphasia support group and shares a few tips in working with clients who are bilingual and have aphasia.
