Dr. Brooke Hallowell (Springfield College, Dean of Health Sciences and Rehabilitation Studies) is internationally known for her work in interdisciplinary engagement, service learning, university community partnerships, and transnational collaboration in research and service. She was chair of ASHA's international issues board (2017) and chair of the first-ever Global Summit on Higher Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders (2012).
In today's episode, Dr. Hallowell speaks about the Life Participation Approach to Aphasia in underserved countries such as Malaysia, the Philippines, India, and China. She exposes how different cultures and traditions view aphasia, and discusses the lack of proper assessment tools in different languages.
