The Struggle to Overcome Obesity w/Curtis Fisher
Obesity is an epidemic, and food is the most dangerous drug in the world. A lot has been written about the best ways to lose weight, but are you eating the right foods? Is your mind in the right place? Do you have the right trainer? On this episode, we speak to Curtis Fisher who lost 170lbs and turned his life around by using simple techniques that you can apply to your life as well.
Getting your blood work is as important as any lifestyle change you’re going to do, because you don’t know what you’re deficient in until you know. –Curtis Fisher
Three Takeaways
Getting a good coach and getting someone who knows what they’re doing on the way down saves you so many problems once you are there. Don’t get trapped in the scale. The scale is a fat person’s tool; it is not a fit person’s tool. It’s about taking accountability and being accountable for how many calories you eat.At the start of the show Curtis Fisher shared on his early relationship with food, and the health scare that he had which kick-started his weight loss journey. Curtis then went on to talk about the psychology behind losing the weight, and how losing weight won’t get rid of the demons in your head. Curtis went on to share his top tips for losing the weight and keeping it off. Later in the show we discussed the importance of getting your blood work done, and how TRT can help you in your battle against obesity. We finished off by discussing the importance of having a trainer who really knows what they’re doing and the gains you can see by implementing these things.
Curtis also shared insights on;
The psychology behind weight loss Body Dysmorphic Disorder The need to take accountability for what you are putting into your body The pros and cons of losing the weight The top tips for losing weight and keeping it off The importance of finding the right trainerYou must start taking accountability for what you are putting into your body by using things like calorie counter apps. Once you start doing this, along with exercise, you begin to see massive gains in your aims. If you are obese, your bloods are most likely going to be all over the place, so getting your blood work done, and using therapies such as TRT can be of massive help for when you are trying to lose the weight and keep it off. If you have a bad trainer you could spend 50 years going to the gym, doing the same things and see no improvement. Training is an art form, and you need to find a trainer who understands that there is a scientific process and application to it.
