Taking the road less travelled with Big Truck driver Shelly Uvanile-Hesch Ep. 37
When you think of a truck driver you most likely picture a man. And that’s fair, because the vast majority of truck drivers in Canada are men - about 97%. In this interview we speak to a woman who wants to tackle those assumptions and shift that number to see more women embrace a career in the driver’s seat. Shelley Uvanile-Hesch is CEO of the Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada - a non-profit organization established in 2014 to encourage the employment of women in the Transportation Industry. Shelley is a passionate advocate who has worked for 30 years in the industry, including 20 years in a Big Truck.
She is no stranger to obstacles, pushback, challenges, and even tragic accidents. You WILL be inspired and learn something new in this interview so take a listen!
