In the last episode of Catching Up On Cinema's "Guilty Pleasures" month, Kyle and Trevor take a deep breath and dive headfirst into Joel Schumacher's vapid and intensely wrongheaded coming-of-age drama, St. Elmo's Fire (1985)!
Featuring roughly 1/3rd of the brat pack, as well as a very young, saxophone toting Rob Lowe, the film is one of those rare, special films that fits snugly into the category of "fascinatingly bad."
In spite of it's flaws, St. Elmo's Fire is a cozy watch, and one that both Kyle and Trevor find immensely rewatchable in the "so bad it's good" sort of way.
