When the royals come to town - the reporters' view
The royal family conduct visits and engagements across the country and around the world, taking a travelling pack of reporters and photographers with them.
But they are also joined by the local media, rarely royal specialists, who have a different perspective as they get a rare experience of the royals up close.
To find out what it is like when the royals come to visit, Pod Save The Queen host Ann Gripper is joined by three colleagues from regional newsrooms.
The Liverpool Echo's Max Clements (@maxclementsECHO) was with Prince William on his recent visit to Everton, with Wales Online's Christie Bannon (@christiebannon_) joining the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Swansea as they got their first taste of royal reporting.
For Leicestershire Live and Leicester Mercury poitics correspondent Dan Martin (@danjamesmartin), Prince Charles and Camilla's visit was his latest royal outing after previous visits from Prince Andrew, William, Kate and the Queen.
They share their stories, what it meant to their cities - and what other people wanted to find out about being there.
