In this episode of Creative Guts, co-hosts Laura Harper Lake and Sarah Wrightsman sit down with Marcia Wood Mertinooke, an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Marcia has a BA in Studio Art from the University of NH and is a member of the NH chapter of the Women’s Caucus for Art. Once an aspiring ceramicist, Marcia never planned on being an oil painter and printmaker. She has a way of finding beauty and insight in every day, mundane objects. Listen to hear the surprising reason she paints self-portraits, how she collaborates with her ten-year-old son, and — the question Laura always needs to know — what does Marcia do with her blocks once she’s done printing?
