Bravery and beauty with Indigenous entrepreneur and 2019 Woman of the Year Jenn Harper Ep. 38
What does it take to be named a 2019 Woman of the Year by Chatelaine? Well, for Jenn Harper, it was years of 80+ hour workweeks and a lot of learning and personal development. Jenn is an Anishinaabe woman and the founder of Cheekbone Beauty Cosmetics – a made in Canada, cruelty-free make up brand that supports education funding for First Nations youth.
In this conversation with Myrrhanda, Jenn shares about her journey with alcohol, losing her brother to suicide, and the tremendous effort required to build a successful social enterprise. Much of her motivation is rooted in a desire to educate Canadians on the legacy of residential schools and the path to reconciliation - and Jenn shares how we can all play a role in that.
You’re going to love this engaging conversation on entrepreneurship, sustainability, recovery, reconciliation and hope.
