In this episode we have a vibrant and sobering conversation with Maria Jose Hummel. Maria Jose Hummel is the founder of Health For Today, Eat Like An Adventist and The Original Diet. She is a nutritionist, health educator, author and international speaker. She has been teaching nutrition, health, disease prevention and plant-based cooking for many years and is passionate about helping others take charge of their health. She has appeared on numerous cooking shows and has authored a popular plant-based cookbook entitled Health, Healing and Longevity. She has completed her MA degree in public health and has completed the Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate Program with the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at eCornell, and is a diplomat of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine as a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Professional. She is also currently working on a Doctorate in Naturopathic medicine with an emphasis on nutrition and natural remedies.
In the episode she opens about her daughters diagnosis with Crohn's disease at the age of nine and how that motivated her to make radical changes in their diet and lifestyle habits.
