Episode 10: The 11 Reasons You're Not Losing Weight - How to bust through weight loss plateaus
This episode is near and dear to my heart. I have struggled with my weight for just about my entire life. This episode is not meant to shame or judge anyone who is overweight. We need to love our bodies at all stages of our journey. However, I know what it's like to feel like you're "doing everything right" and the scale won't budge. I've actually been in a situation where I was eating well and exercising and not only was I not losing weight, I was actually GAINING! It was so heartbreaking and discouraging.
In this episode, I discuss 11 reasons you might not be losing weight. In those 11, I didn't mention eating sugar and processed carbs (like cupcakes and bagels and pizza). I figured that one was a given!
Here is my list:
1. You’re insulin resistant
2. You slowed your metabolism by cutting calories or yo-yo dieting
3. You’re eating foods you’re sensitive to
4. You’re not fasting/you’re eating too often/You snack
5. Your body is stressed
6. You’re not eating real food
7. Your body is toxic
8. You have hormonal imbalance
9. You’re eating when you’re not hungry
10. You’re doing the wrong type of exercise for your body
11. You’re trying too hard and/or you’re not mentally ready for it
