Tessa is a close and long time friend of Desi who actually has a very similar story to Desi as well. She was sexual abused by her adoptive/step father from around 13 years old to 17. After she reported him, her whole family including her own mother disowned and shamed her. This episode tells the story of how she survived and conquered it all with no support except from a cousin. Tessa talks about where she is today and what gave her the courage to heal.
