2020: More Kids On Farm Than Any Time In Modern Ag History
Shay and Chris discuss the implications of hundreds of thousands to millions of kids being around the farm for Spring and Summer operations that historically have not been as involved during this time of year due to school closures, shelter-in-place orders, and the welcome opportunity for additional help on the farm. They also discuss what parents and farms should consider in order to maintain safety, liability coverage, and to take the right course of action for everyone's benefit. Shay put together a 17 minute video that can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PrY0vbEznU&t=3s that hits on some of the key safety topics for kids and families to review, but that is not a replacement for walking through and having the discussion with kids on the farm of where they should and should not be, what they are and are not allowed to do, and having a conversation focused on safety and the ability to ask questions in a stress-free environment. We hope all of you stay safe and healthy this Spring, and please let us know if there are any safety considerations we may have missed or if there is any way we can help your family and operation!
