Life, Death, and Friendship in Star Trek: Picard
In this episode Leah and Andrew explore some theological themes from the latest Star Trek TV series Picard. First, they talk about the theme of personhood. In this they discuss the value of human life and recognizing that value in others and self. Second, they talk about whether or not the reality of death and mortality are truly part of what it means to be human. Lastly, they talk about the theme of friendship and offer encouragements for maintaining friendships in the midst of COVID-19. In addition to discussing new characters such as Soji, they discuss the beloved characters of Picard, Data, Hugh, and Seven of Nine throughout the episode.
During the segments Leah and Andrew talk about the Queen of England accidentally wearing a green screen and Leah shares a heretical song she learned in childhood.
