The Steelers got a jump on this year's draft and already have their #1 selection in the fold. And he's GREAT!! Minkah Fitzpatrick has taken the stress out of the guessing game for choosing a player in the first round.
We talk about positions that the Steelers might emphasize early in this draft. We could be totally wrong that they'll just take the "best athlete available", but we think that there is some strategic shoring up that the Steelers need going into this season.
The draft begins Thursday, April 23 but the Steelers virtual war room can sit back and watch the action. Rounds 2 and 3 are up on Friday, with Rounds 4-7 following on Saturday.
The Steelers will be choosing:
Round 2 (#49)Round 3 (#102, compensatory)Round 4 (#124)Round 4 (#135, from Tennessee through Miami)Round 6 (#198)Round 7 (#232)Last week we talked about the greater need being on defense, but this week we talk about which positions on offense are likely candidates in the early rounds.
Big Ben continues on the interview circuit, this time talking to SiriusXM NFL Radio. He doesn't seem to care whether the Steelers choose a QB, stating that "It’s not going to change my mindset, my mentality, my motivation. I’m trying to come off an injury, so I’m going to give it everything I have.”
