While finishing the final chapter in the Star Wars prequel trilogy in 2004, George Lucas established Lucasfilm Animation with one purpose: to create an animated series using the latest technology. It would tell the story of the Clone Wars, first mentioned by Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker in A New Hope, and would fill in the time gap between Episodes 2 and 3.
Join host David Quinn as he explores the series' very beginnings: how Lucas hired key leaders Catherine Winder and Gail Curry, and how he trained Dave Filoni in the ways of Star Wars storytelling. Learn how the creative team found the style that would define the show and how they overcame the challenges that awaited them.
The Clone Wars series is one of the most immersive, longest-running stories in Star War's history. With a full-length feature film, more than 120 television episodes totaling over 60 hours, a vast toy line, and a devoted and rapidly growing fan base, The Clone Wars signaled a new era of storytelling for a new generation.
