This program is the first in our recovery series to bring you all out of the coronavirus pandemic. You will hear the latest information on how we are safely caring for non-COVID-19 patients and why many treatments unrelated to coronavirus must still be performed, especially as it relates to this Saturday’s topic “Cancer Surgery in the Era of the COVID-19.” For those of you who may be concerned about coming to the hospital for so-called “elective surgery” – and perhaps more importantly, for those of you concerned about coming to the hospital if you have abdominal pain, chest pain or other concerning symptoms – we will tell you why it is safe. We have recently seen patients with serious illness, unrelated to the virus, who have delayed coming to the medical center because of a fear of acquiring SARS-CoV2 - this should not be the case. In this program, we will tell you why our medical center is safe and the amazing things being done to keep it that way.
The Word on Medicine was the first to bring you the truth on COVID-19 testing and treatment, the first to uncover the challenges posed by healthcare disparities and we will be the first to bring you out of the “fear of the virus.” Our medical center and the all-star lineup of doctors, nurses, advanced practice providers and many more are here to help all of you! Tune in this Saturday at 4pm (we will also replay this program on Sunday at 3pm) to hear from Dr. Clark Gamblin, Dr. Amanda Kong, Dr. Karen Kersting, Dr. Ben George, Dr. Gary Seabrook, Dr. John Laur, Dr. Nathan Ledeboer, Dr. Tracy Wang, Gabriella Pyptiuk (APNP), Natalie Lang (APNP), and four grateful patients, sharing their recent experiences.
