This week's podcast talks about producer marketing decisions involving old-crop and new-crop corn basis, as well as weather. So far, much of the US has enjoyed a very favorable and rapid spring planting season, except for southern and eastern locations that have been experiencing greater than desired rains. However, today's weather discussion is more of a "what if" topic that highlights the expanding dry pattern that has evolved from the southwestern US Plains into IA and southwestern WI and points west of that line. This dry pattern is visible for at least the past 90 days. It may be too early to embrace, but I can assure you that conversations about this dry pattern and the possible movement to a La Nina conditions are increasing. Enjoy today's discussion!
