More and more NHL stars are getting their professional start in the AHL. In fact we think you could make a pretty competitive team made up exclusively of former AHL players. With that goal in mind, our very own Cameron Close and Zach Dooley invited Ryan Holt from the Bakersfield Condors to join them in a fantasy draft of AHL Alumni.
The rules were simple, draft a team consisting of six forwards, four defenseman and one goalie with each player having appeared in at least 70 AHL games since the 2005-06 season. There were some predictable picks, some surprise picks and even some disallowed picks. Follow along with the fellas as they put together their teams and then submit them to the fans to decide who has assembled the finest hockey team the AHL has ever produced.
