Composer Conversations With David Coscina - Episode 2: David William Hearn
Welcome to the second episode of COMPOSER CONVERSATIONS WITH DAVID COSCINA on CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO. On today's episode, David sits down with David William Hearn
David William Hearn is an English composer, arranger and music producer based in London whose music can be heard in television shows; commercials; live tours; records; trailers and films. Some of his recent work includes music for television shows such as FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, DANCING ON ICE, AMERICAN IDOL and THE VOICE; commercials for WAITROSE, SAMSUNG and LEXUS; and live events and concerts for major recording artists.
David has provided orchestral mockups, additional arrangements and orchestrations for other film composers on features including MARY POPPINS RETURNS, LES MISÉRABLES, HEART OF THE SEA, A DOG'S PURPOSE and THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA.
Additionally, Hearn is the creator of the revolutionary Staffpad, a program that was introduced in 2015 for the Microsoft Surface and allowed notes to be directly written onto the tablet using the Surface pen which then digitized them in engraving format and provided exceptional playback using expressive sample libraries. Staffpad just recently debuted on iPad OS in February of this year with the integration of premium sample library expansion options from companies such as Orchestral Tools, Spitfire Audio and CineSamples.
David spoke with Hearn about his music background, his work in the film industry with legends like David Arnold & Nick Dodd, and the development of his renowned music creation app Staffpad.
Enjoy!
