Dr. Gabrielle Lyon is a holistic doctor focussed on longevity and the way she approaches this is through building muscle. Her work has shown her the central role that muscle plays in living a long and healthy life and she is here on the show today to explain this philosophy and her personal and professional journey in exercise and nutrition. We start off our conversation considering the current state of the world and some simple steps for remaining balanced and in good shape during these uncertain times.
We discuss balancing different client personality types and allowing people to play to their strengths while offering the necessary perspective for them to achieve their goals. Gabrielle explains her reliance on the four types framework laid out by Gretchen Rubin and from there we dive into fulfilling potential, confronting fear, and the ability to move on from trauma.
We hear about Dr. Lyon's evolving process and how it has grown and streamlined over the years into something efficient and client-friendly. The meat of our conversation is spent with Gabrielle explaining her muscular lens for health and why she places so much importance on certain muscles in the body. We get into protein intake, different dietary options and recommendations, and Dr. Lyon comments on fasting, veganism, and carbohydrates.
