Catherine Anne Frend-Gillihan Ret. NCG, BS-INDS, MS-HSCO, EEFA, & EFL/P Practitioner
I am a retired groomer of 28 years. I also worked as a Veterinary Technician until I burnt out. I went back to school close to the end of my retirement as a way to make sure I could continue working in a field that was animal related, and that would provide a helping hand to my previous work colleagues. So, I dove in intensively to understand why we cause ourselves to Burn Out or develop Compassion Fatigue, and I mostly discovered that as hard as we try to make ourselves on the outside, we wear our hearts on our sleeves most days.
Going forward, I will be diligently educating our community of professionals through educational seminars, workshops, retreats, and podcasts. So please do not hesitate to reach out to me via call /text 816-527-7995 or email keepthefaithfarm@gmail.com. Also, please let the individuals that run our Grooming Events know how important this topic is, if we can help one person avoid Compassion Fatigue or Burnout, we can make the Grooming Profession a mentally and physical safer Work Environment.
