June 14, 1998. In his final game with the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan hits a jump shot with 5.2 seconds remaining to secure an 87-86 victory over the Utah Jazz. Jordan and Coach Phil Jackson would retire from the NBA following the victory, though both would return down the road. The game marked the end of the dynasty in Chicago and finish a run of six championships in eight years.
Scottie Pippen was suffering through a back injury and the contest featured a physical matchup between Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone. An exhausted Michael Jordan finished the game with 45 points.
Jabby Burns, Patrick Guthrie, and Zach Wilt rewatch the original broadcast, run through the history of this matchup, and dive into a full recap of the game. You can watch the broadcast on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/mTF_jxI_P7Y
