The Seventies - What A Time To Try And Stay Alive - Part One
The Seventies were quite a time. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, David Bowie and many amazing other artists were around. Music was amazing. Drugs were readily available for better or worse. This was a decade that brought us movies like One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, The Godfather Part II, Jaws and Apocalypse Now. Needless to say... this was quite a time to be alive. At the same time that all of the pop culture amazingness was going on, the dark side of humanity was also ramping up. Between the years of 1970 - 1979, the list of active serial killers is astounding. People would not have been hitch hiking had they known the type of psychopaths who were out and about searching for their next victims. Some of the biggest names in True Crime were committing the crimes that we still talk about today. 1969, the summer of love, was ended with the crimes of the Manson family and what a way to enter into arguably the worst decade in true crime history.
This is part one of two.
