Don started his career in the financial services industry with B.C. credit unions. In 2018, Don was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer for Concentra Bank. Don provides a wealth of experience in both large and smaller scale financial institutions. He brings outstanding leadership ability, strong financial acumen and extensive expertise, particularly within the credit union system, a talent for bold and innovative thinking, superior strategic insight and an energetic, engaging style. Don served as CFO in 2009 and CEO in 2014 for Coast Capital Savings.
He is known for motivating teams around “fact-based” change initiatives. Don demonstrates strategic leadership through simplicity, focusing on initiatives deemed most important to bettering an organization and advancing its mission.
Don studied mathematics and economics at the University of Toronto and finance at the Stern School of Business at New York University, and is a chartered accountant. He was elected to the Board of the Canadian Credit Union Association in 2015 and is a past recipient of the CFO of the Year Award by Business in Vancouver magazine. Don is currently an adjunct professor at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
