Arguably the best film we've ever covered on this podcast, this week we take a look at Jonathan Demme's masterpiece THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.
With a new Hannibal, new Jack Crawford, new director, new everything...the film became a pop-culture phenomenon AND critical darling, culminating with it taking home "The Big Five" at the 64th Academy Awards (Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, Screenplay - adapted).
Outside of being a masterwork of cinema, the film also has it's place - and it's controversies - when it comes to societal issues and naturally we take our time to discuss them. We're talking Morality in genre films, Feminism, Trans representation, Diversity "quotas" and of course HANNIBAL FUCKING LECTER.
ENJOY!
