Episode 18: Psychodrama and experiential Intuitive Eating with Bruchy Moskovics
Wow, wow, wow, just, wow. I had such an amazing time interviewing Bruchy Moskovics. Bruchy and I met via social media. I didn't know much about her, but I heard she had an amazing group she ran. She let me enter her world through this interview and I was blown away by the work that she does.
It all made so much sense to me because many women struggle with Intuitive Eating because it is something that can't just be taught, it must be experienced as well. That is the magic that Bruchy added to the Intuitive Eating journey through her work.
We had such a great time doing this podcast, we decided to do a second, follow up episode, where Bruchy actually shows me how a client may go through the psychodrama experience.
A note from Bruchy:
Whatever is going on in your life right now, you have taken a powerful step to creating your own transformations: you are here, actively looking for the right therapist to work alongside you.
Here is a little bit about me, so that you can imagine if you and I might make a fitting team as you embark on your journey of growth and evolvement.
I am licensed social worker, with a graduate degree from NYU, as well as additional training from PPSC, a psychoanalytic institute in NYC. In my work, I strive to meet clients wherever they are at - through the tough times and the happy times, through the difficult memories and through the pleasant recollections. I help my clients hold space for their troubling experiences, process their traumatic experiences and memories, and walk alongside them as they create new realities.
I work primarily in the psychodynamic model, an in-depth approach that allows us to find meaning, connect our past to our present, and discover the many layers that make up an individual and their personal dynamics. In addition, I utilize a holistic approach to therapy, incorporating mindfulness, 12-step and spiritual concepts, as well as psychodramatic techniques as is wanted by the client. I am also training in animal-assisted therapy, a modality that is unique in its ability to move beyond words and into “being” in a very powerful way.
I am trained in a wide variety of human behavioral and developmental areas. I am especially passionate in the areas of trauma and abuse histories; body shame and intuitive eating; attachment difficulties; sexuality; grief and loss; and family-of-origin’s dynamical impact on one’s life. I also bring to the work a nuanced appreciation of the role of cultural, religious, familial expectations can play in suffering of any kind.
My clients come from a wide-ranging backgrounds; I see clients from across cultural backgrounds, across different genders, across political aisles, and across religious creeds. Whoever you are, and wherever you’ve been, I believe that you are the expert on your own life.
With my training and experience, I can be there to offer a supportive presence, an accepting and affirming environment, and a space where you can freely be who are and explore anything about any part of yourself.
Everyone has a story that is uniquely theirs - and I would be honored to be a witness to yours.
