This is most definitely not my mix but I'm posting in all it's lossless glory in order to keep it alive. Along with Portishead's Essential Mix from the same era, this is one of the mixes that informs every move I make at the decks. Props to user "Plugg" at themixingbowl.org for uploading this (and for staying up all night manning a stereo VCR that he used to record these classic Essential Mixes in their entirety decades ago. A cool detail from this original recording is that it shows once and for all that the first segment started where it does rather than the return of the first newsbreak, which everyone assumed back in the Napster/Kazaa/LimeWire days because of the more formal EM intro at that hour. And those newsbreaks tho!!! If you dig what you hear, sign up for a mixingbowl account and support their community. Peace from Akron, Ohio:)
Info from source Plugg at themixingbowl.org . . .
This is the original broadcast of the Essential Mix restored to its full 2 hour glory unashamedly unedited to include the News. The earlier Essential Mixes were split into 3 parts because of two news bulletins.
12.am to 12.30am would be part 1
12.32am to 01.30am would be part 2
01.32am to 02.00am would be part 3
Most of the available versions of this Essential Mix floating around the Web seem to be edited in the wrong order or missing parts of the mix
This restoration is THE definite version. This is how the shows ran (as good as I can identify)

The News has also been left in but you can edit it (And Tong) out yourself if you so wish. A good free editor to do this is "Audacity"
TECH Info: Original Capture to 3 Hour VHS Cassette 1994-12-11. Transfer to PC using Philips Nicam stereo VCR to M AUDIO 1010LT soundcard. Captured using Adobe Audition 2. Cue points set in Adobe Audition 2. Encoded to FLAC Level 8 using "Flacfrontend 1.7.1" (One day Ill learn how to embed the cuesheet in the flac file, I think it can be done)
No audio processing has been done to the original recording this is how it was captured.
