This conversation is with Russell Bentley, he started track running, and was coached by the legendary Frank Horwill MBE, the renowned UK middle distance coach who coached 49 Great Britain and Northern Ireland international athletes.
He lived in Kenya and we dive into the lessons he learnt, from the time he trained with David Rudisha (800m world record holder). He has moved from track running into marathon running, earning a personal best of 2.20.20 in the Berlin Marathon.
He is now based in the hills of Snowdonia. He works a 40hr week on building site, running 100 miles on the roads, whilst coming home to play with the kids, and did I mention he is a running coach?!
We also talk about diversity in running due to current events. I’m biased but it’s a great conversation which I know you’ll enjoy.
