We welcome Pat Fitzmaurice, host of the Fitz on Fantasy podcast and Football Girl lead fantasy analyst, to The Fantasy Fullback Dive podcast to get his expert perspective on 2020 Fantasy Best Ball strategy and the fantasy industry as a whole.
First, Pat takes us through his journey through the fantasy industry and gives us his ultimate fantasy process on how he breaks down players and what he values as an analyst (09:36).
Next, The Wolf and Fitz run through somewhat of a mock Best Ball draft (37:56) , where they talk about players to target in the early rounds, middle round wideouts and running backs, and late round stabs. Fitz then goes through his list of players to avoid in Best Ball (01:12:28) and gives a couple of takes at the end.
This involves some excellent fantasy football discussion around Round 2 RBs (Miles Sanders, Austin Ekeler, Kenyan Drake), as well as high-upside WR2s (Terry McLaurin, Robert Woods) and QBs to target late (Teddy Bridgewater and Jared Goff). Fitz then goes through his list of players to avoid in Best Ball, and gives a couple of takes at the end around Tom Brady and DK Metcalf.
You won’t find anyone higher on Jonathan Taylor (43:35), but you’ll also want to hear Pat’s takes on Miles Sanders (47:13) and Breshad Perriman (56:56). Then they discuss whether or not Tom Brady will finally fall off the cliff in Tampa (01:20:34), and if DK Metcalf can be the next Randy Moss.
The boys then run through the No Huddle offense, where Fitz tells us his 2020 fantasy predictions (01:26:28) and who he thinks will lead the league in rushing (hint: it's quite the take).
