Colossians 1:9-20 NIV
Paul writes this letter to encourage the the Colossian church to not waiver from the hope that they had first heard. With hardship they encounter increasing pressure to compromise their allegiance to Jesus and give into false teaching. This letter is fit for us today. As we face pressure as God’s people, it can be tempting to settle for what's comfortable over what's true and compromise our commitment to Jesus.
----------REFLECT----------
1 - Take a moment and think of a few things that you can be thankful for, and ask the Spirit to grant you endurance and patience where you need it.
2 - How does the knowledge of that deeper reality affect the way you see your sin, your pain, and the difficult circumstances you might be in?
3 - How does the picture of Jesus if verses 10-20 give you hope today?
