Pastor Sue Brooks: On Church Revitalization, The Power of Christ's Love, and Early Years in Ministry
In this episode, Pastor Sue talks about her journey through ministry, the power of Christ's love, and her time revitalizing a church. Sue Brooks is the Program Director of the Oaks School of Leadership and has been on staff at Oaks Church since 2013. Sue earned her B.S. in Psychology from Christopher Newport University in 2003, where she worked extensively in the field of empirical research. Following her undergraduate work, she and Bryan were married and pastored a church in Fredericksburg, Virginia. During this time, Sue began graduate work to earn a Master of Education degree but eventually decided to hold off on her graduate studies to be available to her growing family. Bryan and Sue had 4 children in Virginia prior to moving to Texas, and welcomed their 5th child—their Texas baby—in 2012. Sue returned to her graduate work in 2017 but felt called to step away from her MEd work in order to pursue a biblical studies degree. She earned her Master of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in 2018 and is currently pursuing her Master of Divinity degree.
