Episode 19 - Army Leadership - Brigadier Nic Jans (Ret'd) OAM, PhD.
In this episode, Bram was fortunate to talk to Brigadier Nicholas Jans (Ret'd) OAM, PhD. Brigadier Jans served in the Australian Regular Army in field artillery, training, and personnel policy development and was then a reservist for many years. Since his retirement from full-time service in 1985, he has consulted on leadership and strategic human resource management to the Australian Defence Force and the US Navy and US Army, as well as to many civilian organisations. He is a visiting fellow at the School of Business, UNSW, Canberra.
We are now extremely lucky that Brigadier jans has put pen to paper, motivated by witnessing military leadership applied to the devastating aftermath of the Black Saturday fires that devastated the Victorian community where he lived.
Bram and Nic discuss his book, leadership models, General Cantwell and what a military leader brings to the civilian world.
