This year has been filled with so many uncertainties and for many of us, we’ve neglected to take the time to focus on the things that have brought us joy. Our minds have been so consumed with the events that have taken place over the past six months and our own happiness has taken a backseat to so many of those things. Remembering to practice self-care is such a vital step in looking after our mental wellbeing and it’s unrealistic to believe we can keep carrying on with all of this stress weighing us down.
In today’s episode, I talk about the importance of celebrating the moments in life that bring us joy, why we should apply meaning to those things, and share a story of how my husband and I were encouraged to celebrate our twenty-third wedding anniversary and take some time for ourselves. I also give some advice on tools and techniques that I use which remind me to stay grateful and optimistic during tough times and the genuine benefits that they can have.
