ANYONE F'COFFEE? - Episode the Eleventh - PTSD / ANXIETY / DEPRESSION - TRIGGERED
Send us a text
Well Hallo folks
Do wear a mask in public places :)
So! We are on to episode 11 of this audio grooviness, ANYONE F'COFFEE - funded by the PULSE Award / Wellcome Trust and Britpod awards....this very aural delight is designed and built to be a useful insightful moving listen - encompassing real life story, medical professional advice on where and how to get help, and some verbatim and dramatised audio fiction on 5 different medical issues women - and some other folks - suffer from...daily....this pain often unseen. Hidden.
We continue this week looking at PTSD / Anxiety / Depression.
I must make clear that the traumatic event affecting characters and people in this show was a sexual assault, so please be aware of that before you listen if this will in any way affect you. Thank you.
Flo is found in hibernation mode at home, and tells of her gentle trauma at even seeing folks who remind her of the man who sexually assaulted her, and the girls rally round to support her. In Diane's interview she recounts thoughts and feelings about therapy, about being proactive and positive, and Kylie Salholm give us advice on how folks suffering this mental health issue can help themselves..
The WHOLE point of me and my audio pals making this is to encourage you to empower yourself to get help, to make the first steps in recognising that you need help if you need it, and to nurture friends and family and a sense of community, whatever your condition - healthy or otherwise.
We are all on this crazy planet for such a short time....I feel we should be better at communicating and speaking and helping each other - especially now.
I hope you feel the same way too, and reach out to other folks, or to networks on our Quirky Voices website links here.
