This is the audio portion of UTIA's Fireside Chat with Senior Vice President and Senior Vice Chancellor, Tim Cross.
Please note: Due to incorrect information regarding livestock shows and fairs, a portion of this podcast has been edited out.. Here is the corrected information from Dr. Cross:
Our Extension leadership team is requiring that any employee who attends a fair or a livestock event must self-quarantine and work remotely for 14 days following the event. I apologize for not realizing that this had been discussed and decided, and in today’s Fireside Chat I responded (incorrectly) that attending livestock events did not require an isolation period. The error for this misstatement is entirely my responsibility, and I regret the misunderstanding that my comments may have created.
To summarize, Extension employees who attend a fair or a livestock event are required to self-quarantine and work remotely for 14 days following the last day of the event. Thanks to each of you for your commitment to serving our farmers, families, youth and communities during this challenging time, and please accept my apology for adding confusion to an already stressful situation.
