An adverse childhood experience (ACE) describes a traumatic experience in a person’s life occurring before the age of 18 that the person remembers as an adult.
This year, a request was made to address the issue of COVID-19 and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). As serious as these issues are, it appeared at first to be an easy assignment. But maybe not.Jennifer Nottingham and Richard Murdock published an article for the Michigan ACE Initiative exploring the effects of the pandemic on children. On this episode she joins Dan to talk about ACEs, children facing the pandemic and the resilience of those kids.
