MMP Ep 165: Stephanie Young on Raising a Child Who’s “Differently Wired”
This week, Laura sits down for a chat with Stephanie Young, who shares her beautiful, real, and raw motherhood experience. Like many of us, Steph is working to find the elusive balance between full-time work, young kids, and self care. But for her this also includes navigating the unfamiliar terrain of raising a child who is “differently wired”. Steph’s son, Bailey, was diagnosed with high-functioning autism when he was just turning 3, and after reaching out in hopes of bringing this conversation to the podcast so that more moms might feel solidarity through similar journeys, Steph so graciously and openly agreed to come share her own. Steph is not a trained expert in the field of neurodiversity; she is here to share her empowering and ever so real story and offer her perspective to help others who may feel lonely in this experience. This podcast is a safe space to share, and I have found that the most learning and solidarity comes from real mamas sharing real stories. We are in this together.
