EP25 Head Talk With AFP Commander & Strongman | Grant Edwards
Grant Edwards recently retired as Australian Federal Police Commander after 34 years of service. Simultaneously over this time he set world records and competed at world level in strongman competitions amongst other various sports. Grant is a high functioning and esteemed AFP member and athlete who, like many of us, came face to face with the effects of a life lived without an awareness on the effects to his own mental wellbeing.
Today we chatted about some of his life as a high ranking AFP Commander and the repercussions of the scope of work that this involves.. from drug trafficking, to child exploitation and being deployed to serve in Afghanistan. We mere mortals get a cheeky sneak peek into the life of our legendary law enforcement officers, and low and behold we learn how superhero-ish, yet simultaneously very human they are underneath the amour.
I LOVED this chat and think many will resonate with some of Grants perspectives and experiences which lead to his experience with PTSD and mental health.
