Welcome to Episode 78! MTT Coach Gareth James and Peak Performance Mindset Coach & Educator Dr. Tricia Cardner are back discussing all things poker strategy & mindset! The start of the episode finds them discussing the upcoming heads-up challenge between Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk. They went over several things that should be the focus of anyone’s preparation when faced with a challenge (whether it’s a heads-up duel or simply playing higher stakes than you’re used to).
The next part of the episode was dedicated to a hand history and Gareth gave some amount of detail on how best to size your bets on the flop on paired boards when you have range advantage. He also talked about planning your bet sizes on the turn so you can extract max value on the river.
Finally, the duo addressed a follow-up question to Episode 76 on dealing with learning overwhelm. Specifically, a listener named Chris wants to know how to select a good training program. Find out what the Poker on The Mind Crew recommends!
