Strength is the ability to generate muscular force against an external resistance. Okay, there are more technical descriptions than that, but in general muscles generate force to produce and control movement. Many people start an exercise program with the intent of becoming stronger, but if they're not applying the loads in the appropriate manner OR not allowing sufficient recovery, any significant strength gains may be elusive.
There are no secrets to getting stronger, it takes work and a systematic approach to exercise. On this episode, originally recorded in the spring of 2017, Brett Jones, the Director of Education for StrongFirst, stops by to talk the StrongFirst method of strength training which could help you to not only hit your strength goals but exceed them beyond your expectations.
