My guest today is Mark Chingumbe from Zambia. In this episode, we learn that like most African students he wanted to pursue a route in the medical field. That did not come to pass instead he went to the field of agricultural science. He pursued a BSc at the University of Zambia his research was on evaluating sweet sorghum genotypes for high grain yield and Brix content. Mark, tells us more about this work and the importance. Further, we discuss the public perceptions of using sorghum as an alternative to maize. We hear Mark's opinion on the need for support by the government for young people to want to pursue an academic career in this field. Lastly, we discuss some of his aspirations to further your studies, what are your future plans... It involves calling him "your excellency".
